WORKINONIT'S BLOG ENTRY
THE BEGINNING
Scott (my husband) and I did our "practice show" this past weekend. We expected only to get the practice and have fun. We got much more than that by making more friends..seeing Layne again was great too! Most unexpectedly, I received the 1st Place Female Top Cop/Firefighter (that was a give away though) 3rd place in the Novice bodybuilding and 4th place in the Sub-masters. There was great competition at that show and I felt a little uncomfortable standing next to the girl that was a lean machine and ended up winning the Over all title! She had been obviously training for this show, and it showed!
This was also Scotts first BB show and he received 3rd in Sub-masters and 4th in Novice. The guys there were Solid!
So now we are still working hard for the DeKalb show-looking forward to meeting more friends and setting my base line for future goals and competitions. Scott and I at first weren't sure if we should compete in the same shows in the future. The week leading up to the last show was quite tense in our house. Amazing how just adding a meal after a show can make you so much happier and easier to deal with, lol! Layne says the more that you do (compete together) the more you learn to cope and so we are now considering what shows we will be doing next year!
Back at the gym yesterday, did the DB incline bench press 3x45x8, 3x35x16,3x30x25 (circuits)
Wide grip pull ups 3xbwx8,seated row 3x75x16, lat pull downs 3x75x25 (circuits)
shoulder press 3x115x8, LF side raise 3x40x16, db side lat raise 3x10x25 (circuits)
decline sit ups w/10lb plate x100 reps
leg lifts 50 reps
leg sweeps 50reps
pose holds!
cardio in the am of 5 minute warm up on stairmaster 15 intervals on precore 40 minutes moderate on elliptical
This morning was a 5 minute warm up followed by 20 minutes of moderate/high on percore with the ramp all the way up. Will do pose holds and weights this evening.
