Obviously Scott and I did the DeKalb show. This was a Natural Pr-Qualifier and we both took 3rd. I saw the video of the pre-judging and noticed that my front lat spread, which usually I have no problem bringing out, just wouldn't come out. I had felt flat that day and had a hard time getting into it even after trying to pep talk myself.

The lady that took 1st was an unbelievable 51 years old! She looked like she was in her 3o's! The second place winner did have a better back than I did, and she posed better, I think that is what killed it for me, but...with every show I try to learn something, as this was my bench mark show, here is what I learned:

1. You can NEVER practice posing too much
2. Some people can eat waffles smothered in syrup the morning of the show and a king sized snickers bar at 3am and STILL win!
3. If you go on stage and see an oil spot either go in front of it, or to the side of it. A bog oil spot was right in the middle of the stage, I almost face planted during my posing routine.
4. If you aren't "feeling it", better to find someone or something to help you to get you into it before pre-judging.

So there you have it. I will not be competing again until 2009 so that I can add soe size on to my small frame. Being 36 and an ecto, this may be a slow process. I'll have to be patient!

I took a week off of the gym after the show and returned yesterday, damn it felt good! I am already feeling it today! 8-] So, here's to you and to this journey that I am going on this next year and a half! Hopefully, there will be some good gains!
