LONDON 2012

I have pondered this question for some time during the entire Olympics and as I watched the ceremonies end in Beijing, I had my answer.

I want to compete at the Olympic Games at London in 2012 as a power lifter. I want to bring home the gold for the US, but more importantly, educate and bring people towards the sport. My goal in time before the trials is to bulk up 27 pounds to hit 167. I have always loved doing clean & jerk along with the snatch. It takes so much concentration and perfection with form before you can transfer to strength to finish the move. I figured, I will be 26 years of age, have a good amount of time under my belt with lifting and hopefully my metabolism can slow down a bit so I don’t have to eat 12000 calories like Phelps just to maintain my weight lol.

I ask a huge favor though of everyone here on RA. If you know of any seasoned coach with Olympic experience in power lifting or anything that can help me out would be greatly appreciated! The dedication and will is there, but I could use some guidance and education on all the specifics.

London, here I come!

Stay healthy and strong my friends!

Hi Wam,
I did a powerlifiting demo down here in florida and met with some of the top trainers. I know of a guy in California and a guy here in Florida. I will email you there information and they can certainly point you in the right direction. I had so much fun that weekend and learned many interesting things that I had never known about the sport. Good Luck Tami!
