TIM RICE'S BLOG ENTRY

THINKING ABOUT MY FUTURE

I go through this on an annual basis, always trying to re-examine my goals and see what I have left in the tank. I LOVE the sport of bodybuilding and the way I look and feel when I am competing. I feel awesome. But this is a sport for the single guy, I am convinced. I find myself ignoring everyone around me in pursuit of the ultimate dream of turning pro. My wife and kids usually take the most punishment as I zone out and become focused on the diet, training, and constantly staring of thinking about my upcoming show.

I am at a point where I need to find, or create, balance in my life. It is gonna be hard, but I know I need to rethink my priorities and try and compromise before I am old and all alone. I fear that is the end destination all the time and am struggling to erase the possibility. I am gonna make a call this week and either go all out for next season, or take some time off and hit it hard for 2010. I am still a bit young I guess at 29, so I could always stay tight for photoshoots, etc. and slowly add quality mass while I take time off.

I don't know yet, but Iwill make my decision by Sunday and let you all know. If I do compete I am gonna do a log on here every few weeks with pics and all , but we will see.

Hey Tim, from one parent to another..I know how you feel. I have put many things on hold because of faimly and my kids and let me tell you this..I have NEVER regreted that choice..Kids grow up so fast and you can't get back what you have missed..So many time as parents we sacrifice for our children but in the end it so well worth it.. Follow your heart but most of all be at peace with your decision.. Good luck and much happiness..

T,

You have had many things come at you at one time this year. I think it is always good to sit down and evaluate and re-evaluate goals and expectations. You and your family will steer you in the right direction. Trust in HIM and HE will show you the way.

Thanks guys, I am , as of right now, planning on competing again next year. But it is NOT my #1 priority at this time, but rather a hobby as it should be.

I cant say how much you all ROCK!!! You are awesome and really put "fuel in my tank"..THANK YOU!!!
