FORGOT HOW TOUGH HIT IS

Well it's gotten quite hot and humid here in Colorado, which makes it tough when your gym is the garage! I've been meaning to get myself a headband to keep the sweat out of my eyes. The past few weeks I've been doing a more standard 3 sets of 8-12 reps full body routine with 30 seconds between sets. I had also been limiting the rest between excercises. But it's been so hot and humid that I've had to increase the rest between excercises to keep from getting sick before the end of the workout. I decided this week to shorten my routine and go back to my old HIT routine of a single set to failure. This meant I had to up the weight to keep the reps in the 8-12 range. I thought that would allow me to keep from getting sick from the workout. Well, surprise, surprise, so far after two HIT workouts, it's actually WORSE! Today was really bad. I've felt really run down all day. I guess 30 minutes of HIT is actually worse for me than 55 minutes of my standard routine, even though I take the last set to failure there too. I'm thinking that if I feel like this after Fridays workout, I'll go back to the prior routine. I actually felt pretty good with that routine even though I was taking myself to the edge each time. I like HIT because I think it gives me better results, but I can't handle feeling like this for very long. We'll see how it goes. Well, all for now, blessings to all!

Maybe it's just the adjustment that's making it hard? Hopefully by the end of the week it'll be better, but if not, winter will be here soon!
