STEPH9282'S BLOG ENTRY
BEST OF ME
So-- this past weekend was a little rough. Great things are happening in my life-- and I have so much to be thankful for... but as I have come to find, I have a tendency to put eggs into serveral different BIG baskets and its really starting to become so what overwhelmning. Most people would say to put working out and dieting on the back burner-- but that is the one thing that truely makes me happy. Unfortunantly, the time I spend in the gym and the time I spend cooking does not pay my bills! With school and work I am just on my last leg. I'm going to DC for 2 weeks at the end of Feb... paid for by work- and yes, I am excited- but all I can think about is how am I going to eat? When and I going to work out? Am I crazy--yeah, some would say-- then going to Chicago for a week in March and at that particular confrence its tough to stay "competitor" focused. Because of these trips I wont be competing until early summer... but it is so hard for me to live 'normal'... it makes me feel lost and uncertain. I should not let my diet/workout dictate how I feel about myself-- but I do.
Ok... rambling-- now, but I do feel better!

If I know I'm going to be some place for a week or so I'll often get the address of where I'm staying and you can search out good gyms on places like Superpages.com. Then I'll call a gym and ask a gym staff or trainer if there are some healthy places to eat around them. I'll also locate grocery stores in the area just in case.
It just takes a little planning and making the best food choices you can. Everyone knows, food provided by our jobs is anything but healthy. :)
If I am traveling I do a circuit of push-ups, body weight squats, crunches and for cardio I do a brisk walk.
