OVERTRAINING

I was working chest yesterday with two guys who like the higher volume training. I use HIT.
Over the past 12 months I have noticed that neither of them has put on ANY size at all. Not from lack of effort, for they go at it pretty hard. However, my chest is really coming along nicely.
They put in three sets to each of my one, along with more reps per set. They rarely go to complete failure, wheras I always do.
It is basically the same workout they have done all year. The obvious thing to do would be train less. Instead they decided to throw in 3 more exercises, because "more is better".
I promise you that 12months from now they will still be the same size, pushing the same weight. It is all because they cannot get that "more is better" thinking out of there heads and stop overtraining.
Overtraing has been the cause of more people having made no progress than any other factor. If people would only get that mindset out of the way then they would see the gains that are yearned for so greatly.

There could be other factors as to why they aren't gaining strength/size. (e.g. not enough food, not enough sleep, no intensity, ect) But I agree, more isn't always better. lol.
