10 WEEKS IN

I have been really changing back to a healthy lifestyle for about 10 weeks now. I had 3 kids right in a row, and each one gave me 10 extra lbs! I dont even really look like I have that much extra weight on me, but I know what I looked like pre-babies when I was running, lifting, and eating right. Of course, all of that was much easier when I didnt have 3 little ones to take care of. I also work, so I started eating alot of unhealthy crap because it was convenient. But now I plan ahead, fill my house with clean foods, and think of workout time as "me" time. It's the only time where nobody is asking me for something! Being a mom, wife, and customer service manager and makeup artist means everyone always wants me to do something for them. Gym time is ME time and I love it! My weight has gone down 11 lbs in 10 weeks, and I know I have put on some lean muscle. I am not really a hard gainer, especially for a woman. Must be that strong Dutch and Irish stock I come from! I am starting to work with a trainer at my gym this week, so I can really take it to the next level. It isnt easy- there's lots of outside pressure to drink a beer with friends or my hubby, eat mall food when shopping with friends, and of course the kids always want happy meals, etc. But I know those things won't make me happy. When I eat crap, I feel like crap. Simple as that. So I just dont anymore. I will stay mentally strong, and get physically strong and love the body I'm in. After all, it's the only body I've got!

i completely agree! when you have kids it is hard to make better eating habits. a handful of goldfish very easily turns into a lot more...and with kids going from not hungry one second to absolutely starving the next, it's easy to want to pop something quick and unhealthy in the micro. i've got a 4 year old and i've found a ton of healthy and quick (and cheap!) foods for her as meals and snacks. ...give me a shout if you'd like to trade tips or recipies! good luck with your renewed lifestyle! stick with it. ~tami

Wow three kids that is some accomplishment! Everything in moderation and you will be back to your pre-pregnancy shape in no time!
