RACHEL'S BLOG ENTRY
POST HOLIDAY SEASON
I don't know about anybody else, but I am pretty excited now that the Christmas season has come and gone... And not just cause I get to go to the mall and not have to fight for a parking spot, but cause all of the temptations to eat the sugary, fattening foods are over!! I am so glad that the cookies and candies and cakes are no longer going to be out and yelling at me to scarf them down.
Now I get to stock up on all the egg whites, oatmeal, chicken, veggies and sweet potatoes till competition time! And not to mention the extra cardio that I am going to have to force myself to do (I hate it when I first start off doing it, but after a while get pretty addicted to it!!) I am super excited about that, cause I have never competed before, and it will be even more challenging with the new motherhood lifestyle, but I know that it will all be worth it once I am on stage competing for the first time! I am already getting nervous, and I dont even know where my first competition is going to be! =)
Which by the way, does anybody know of any competitions for beginners that may be taking place in the Central New York area?
Anyway, I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday and have truly blessed New Year to come! Good luck with all of your future endeavors!!

Hi Rachel, may you have a great New Year as well. The NPC runs contests all over the country. They post their schedules here: http://www.npcnewsonline.com/new/contest.htm, although it doesn't look like the 2008 schedule is up yet. You can probably use the 2007 schedule as an indicator as to what time of year specific contests are held though. Good luck!
