NEW YEAR NEW STRICT DIET

Ugh. I have spent the last couple weeks preparing for Christmas and the New Year eating all that high sugar foods... Yummy stuff, like Christmas cookies, pies, cakes, eggnogg shakes, fudge, brownies... Not to mention it was both my husband and my birthday, so we also had cake last weekend to celebrate that. On top of the fantastic desserts, we practically lived at the little pizza place down the road from our house (cause you know how NY is famous for their pizza!), meanwhile assuring ourselves it is ok, cause both my husband and I were planning on competing in our first competition in April, and we knew that we would not be eating like this for a long long long time... But now I am not so sure it was a good idea to borderline gorge ourselves on these foods. We were doing way more harm than good for sure!
But oh well, better late than never. I have started back on my egg whites and oatmeal breakfast and nothing but tuna, veggies, brown rice, chicken and yams.
And I have finally started back up in the gym, after my 9 month hiatus from being pregnant. I cannot believe how much strength and definition I have lost!! It is frustrating to not be able to lift as much as I used to and to also not be able to run like I used to. I am struggling with 3 miles when less than a year ago I did 5 with no problems... Guess this is gonna be a lot more difficult than I had anticipated.

Just ease into the training and diet and make sure you keep a log, progression is far more important than just the end goal.

It is always intersesting how quickly one loses your strength and endurance yet the mind does not forget that quickly and wants you to start right back at the same weights you were pushing before the lay off.

Wishing you lots of luck and just remember that everything you need to succeed you already have within yourself.

You will get all your strength, definition, and endurance back in no time. The road to glory is difficult with anything, but you will succeed as long as you believe.
