If I plan of having fish for one of my meals, should I still plan on taking a omega 3.6.9, or would I just be wasting a couple?

It wouldn't hurt. The directions on my fish oil bottle is to have two pills at three meals.

I take 5-6 grams a day regardless if I eat fish that day or not.

If you were taking them before eating fish all the time, continue. It should get you what you want.
