For those who have done competitions, I'd say IMO that dieting is the worst part of the whole equation. I've talked to people who actually enjoy the diet because it puts them in a situation of strict dedication and discipline. IMO it's the hardest thing to deal with on a daily basis. Anywhere you go these days it seems like food is advertised. Many don't realize it because your not thinking about it, but once you diet it's like you see food ads everywhere. What's the hardest for you guys when competing?

Ha, I LOVE the diet! Keeps me focused on why I am training and I enjoy all the food I can eat! Only thing is I wish I had more!

The hard thing for me is not having that extra time in my day. I am a slave to the cardio and miss my relaxing/friend time. For those of you that know me I of course miss my party time.....:)

I have somehow adopted taste buds that dont like the pizzas and fast food burgers and fries too much, if at all. Lean beef and fish is naturally what I lean towards anyway so its not too hard. I think what gets me in the low carb intake and at the very end almost eating solely meat products.
I hate cardio and hate shaving and getting spray tanned...thats the worst part for me..but that's not to say the diet is fun lol..just maybe like 4th on the list of "most hated" lol.

the extra cardio is way more of a pain than dieting.
I actually enjoy dieting as my insulin levels are more stable and i have so much more energy, I don't like the last 4 weeks when im getting really lean and then you are tired and sleepy all the time, that is not a fun experience.

Diet, no question for me. I HATE GIVING UP- 1.)Cream in my coffee. 2.) Coke Zero. 3.)Cinnamon Toast Lundburg rice cakes. I have to give them up because I'm never able to just eat two or three.
Extra cardio is definately a close second, however. :o)

Don't forget the opportunity costs as well. With the amount of time preparing our own foods and adding more hours to the gym in addition to work school and whatever other activies you are involved with, some relationships fall by the way side.
I have noticed a strong group of friends emerge while others fall off.
