How come when you're at the gym, what's the most favorite asked question???? How much you bench??? Does everybody get this question at least once in their life?
PEOPLE AT THE GYM
School weight room i feel big and the other kids think im pretty big. but when im in the gym gym i feel like a baby.
The greatest form of respect is self respect.

If it's not with the bench press, Why do u see these guys with big upper body & little ass legs. I called them Doritos.
I pull my hat down and turn up my ipod and get it done haha, if they do ask I tell them how much I squat :)

I'd rather hear someone ask me how much i can squat or deadlift rather than how much i can bench.

You need to get a t-shirt like the one I just bought from the animalpak.com website. It's plain black and reads across the front, very simple and plain, "Shut up and train". You would be amazed how effective it is!!!
I get questions like that all of the time, I love help'n people out...but I am on a busy schedule, I have one hour after I get there to get in and get out. I have been use'n my i-pod lately so I don't hear people. I know that sounds bad, but I'm on a mission when I am at the gym. Now If I had the whole day to hang around, I'd answer every question possible. I couldn't tell ya the last time I maxed outon the bench press....10 years ago? lol I did do 205 last week for 3 sets of 10 though, not bad for a 165lb'r huh? lol!
"Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But, to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength."
My problem is that I also work part-time at my gym. I am helpful and work with anyone and everyone when I am on duty, but when I am there to train, I just want to be left alone. Hence, the effectiveness of my new shirt! :)
Any questions I get about fitness are not asked in the gym. It'll be some lady out at Vitamin shoppe or something curious about what I use, or why I lift weights. I always take those chances to say you should lift weights too. Even with the magazines and tv shows it's like the average housewife still thinks the way to get in shape is to take fat burners and join the mall walk program. Maybe I should start a club or something. I could call it Fit Housewives, lol. And to be a member you have to at least own a set of dumb bells.
Squat Hard!!
thats a very good idea Lady P..many women are scared to death of lifting weights for the fear that it will give bulky muscles but those people need to be educated about fitness.

Yeah, I know right. Don't get me wrong. I like the mall walk program. I get out there with my stroller too. It's fun. I just wish more ladies would try weight training.
Squat Hard!!
yea thats true. i do see many women with their stollers, but i also do see them eating a McDonalds BigMac with Large fries and by the looks of it, they dont really need it either :/

I was just reading an article in the newspaper about fitness errors. It said women were afraid to workout w/ weights b/c they don't wanna bulky. I say, train w/ weights. 1) this can help u get stronger. 2) Put some tone into that body. Do whateva gotta do, Lady P. Start a club w/ ur girls.
I have invested a lot of $$ in my basement gym (smith rack, olympic weights, dumbbells, etc.) and I love training by myself at home - no distractions or questions (unless my kids are around!:) - but that way, I can just focus on working hard and getting results. Works great for me! Plus I workout with no shirt and I don't have to worry about gym rules or wiping off the equipment for the next person!! See my article if you haven't read it...
