Well I am looking to get rid of my excess body fat covering up my abs. It's really not that much, but summer is around the corner and I really want to have a six pack. I am thinking about starting up on L-Carnitine and CLA, but am having reserves about it. I am trying to gain muscle mass at the same time so I just don't want to inhibit that. I am already taking Green Tea Extract and I was just wondering if it's worth it to start up on the other two? Or will I lose muscle at the same time?
LCARNITINE AND CLA
You won't loose muscle by take'n cla or l-carnitine. Actually you shouldn't loose muscle by take'n any supplement if your diet in right on where it should be. Diet, diet, and more diet....thats where most of your efforts should be put towards.
Some define themselves by their education or their career...Others define themselves by their salaries and material acquisitions...but whatever it is, I choose to define myself by my passions
so if I keep eating all of the good food that I'm eating(lots of lean protein, vegetables, brown rice, sweet potatoes, peanut butter, and nuts)will those supplements still help me lose weight? or do I have to cut my diet?
No one can answer your question without knowing the specifics of what you are eating, when, how much, and what your training schedule looks like.
I eat about 300 calories every two hours. I take in the majority of my carbohydrates in the morning and I add more and more protein into each meal as the day goes on. I usually workout for two hours(90 min lifting and 30 min. cardio)every other day. On in between days i just do some cardio and abs. maybe that helps?

That combo is pretty good & it should work fine. Plus, that's a cheap fat-burning combo as of price wise.
actually CLA has been proven to not only decrease body fat but increase lean muscle mass.
ive been taking it consisitently for about 3 weeks now and feel its made a difference to my body composition..
take about 4-6 grams of CLA everyday for a month or 2 for noticeable changes...

Dave,
I think everyone has made great suggestions and comments. In your diet I did not see any whey, egg, soy or pro complex listed. These will help you to keep a constant flow of fresh protein while keeping the carbs lower.

I just bought some CLA pills today I'm wondering if I should stick with the bottles directions of taking a pill after each meal, I mean thats like 6-8 pills a day. I'm curious to know whats the best way to supplement with this stuff is?
Failure is always within arms reach, stay focused!
Mma - good question. It's kind of a funny paradox - the accepted bodybuilding method is to eat 6 meals a day - but many "bodybuilding" supplements still base their directions on the old "3 meals a day" tradition. I believe those directions are referring to taking 3 a day. I usually take 3-4 a day myself.
