These are really good. If you are concerned about the extra carbs just leave out the bread crumbs and they will be fine....
1.5 pounds lean ground turkey
2 egg whites
1/2 c dried bread crumbs
1/4 c water
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 c fresh parsley (optional)
2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp black pepper
3 cups lowfat marinara pasta sauce
1) Preheat broiler
2) In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey, egg whites, breadcrumbs, water, onion, garlic, parsley, basil, and black pepper. Mix ingredients well and then shape into 1.5 inch diameter meatballs.
3) Arrange meatballs on a baking sheet and place under broiler for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned on all sides.
4) In a large sauce pan, simmer pasta sauce and add meatballs . Simmer over low heat until warmed thoroughly, about 20 minutes
