In our quest to be leaner, stronger… more muscular, our passion often overrides our intellect, occasionally driving us to do things that we know are counterproductive to our goals. What’s your biggest saboteur?

Overtraining
"The plates on each side of the bar...they keep us stable, like bookends...this our life, and another chapter is about to unfold"
Nutrition as a whole...not just skipping or over eating, but poor eating in general

Overtraining for sure. Im getting better though, haha.
Without pain, without sacrifice, we would have nothing. You determine your own level of involvement.

with four kids....it's having "their" snacks around. i try to go for that apple or handful of baby carrots, but those goldfish crackers sometimes win out....that and not enough sleep.
You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. :)
I would say for me it is eating bad food, I get in a hurry and just grab something and then just cram it down and end up eating more than i should, but it is something im working on
I would have to say undereating, overeating, and then too much cardio after doing both, lol! It is a sickness!

For me I have a time period I go through all...
For my first two years lifting overtraining was my BIGGEST problem!! Now I think I have it in check, although there are those weeks I just can't stop haha.
Over the beginning of summer I am catching up with friends and usually sleep a little less than I should.
Then I start to overeat because I'm out and just eating whenever my friends eat, and what ever they eat.
Now that school has started up I'm having trouble keeping up with my meals. While I'm on campus between classes I rarely feel I have the time to grab a meal. So far I'm getting my sleep though. Hope I keep that up.

I hear ya Scruth. Bodybuilding and College are not easy. Can't tell you how many flex points I used on my campus card stocking up on myoplex rtd's and protein bars. It was also a pain trying to follow a meal schedule, when you have friends that are casual "normal" people who treat going to the dining hall as a social event instead of a function, not to mention skipping the dining hall all together to have some wings or d.p dough (bodybuilder's worst enemy delivered). It got easier senior year when I moved off campus, and was able to cook in my apartment. My advice do your best to stock up on some cans of tuna, or better yet those sealed pouches, and almonds. Carry around a few shaker bottles and bottles of water in your backpack, and throw a few tuna pouches and baggy of almonds when your going from class to class, and can't get a meal at the dining hall in. If you have a microwave in your dorm room, you can always nuke some oats for after your workout. Last words of wisdom your in college. Enjoy yourself cause most likely it will be the best four years of your life. Fitness is very important, but let yourself have some fun. There is always time to fully commit to bodybuilding.
Every man's life ends the same way. It is only the details of how he lived and how he died that distinguish one man from another.
For me it is over training and having sometimes 4-5 cheat meals in one week but my compliance is usually 80% or better for my meal plan even with 4-5 cheats.
Sleep used to be an issue but ever since I started two daily 15-20 naps it has helped greatly.

I'd have to say lack of rest but right now I have no choice in that :( I am also an overtrainer by nature...so many years of sports (ie running track and doing cheerleading/gymnastics) meant overlapping seasons and sometimes one off season DURING an "on season" makes me very used to lots of training...not so good cause sometimes I feel I NEED to train a ton when in reality rest is probably better :P
