Hey all. I need a bit of advice here.
It never fails that I have to make a business trip right in the middle of every contest prep. I'm now 7.5 weeks out and I have to head to Austin for eight days. The good news is there's a decent fitness center at the Radisson - so I can do my AM cardio - and a Gold's four blocks away for the real stuff (thank goodness for that free travel pass).
My problem is I'll be off site pretty much the entire day, every day. I need to get my 40gP and 25gC six times a day, and I've already cut out shakes and bars. The protein isn't a problem - I can sneak away for five mins and suck down a can of tuna, but the carbs are another thing. Can anyone recommend a good, ready-to-eat low-GI carb food that I can take with me without the need for refrigeration or heating? Rice cakes are going to get really old, really fast. And, please don't tell me to carry a couple of raw potatoes in my pocket.
While I'm at it, is there anyone on this forum who works out at the Gold's Gym on 6th St. in downtown Austin and wants to hit a workout next week? If so, let me know.
Thanks in advance,
Dave
