Dorian Yates and Arnold - Dorian Yates had some nasty injuries however still was able to over come them to win Olympia when mere mortals would be crying - he is insaine....

I like Arnold and Frank Zane. I'm also partial to the classic bodybuilding physique. I think the elite bodybuilders of today are more freakish than appealing.
By the way...I'm a HUGE fan of Jamie Eason, not that has anything to do with the best bodybuilder of all time, but I saw bogey posted that pic of her...u should see my myspace page!
Some define themselves by their education or their career...Others define themselves by their salaries and material acquisitions...but whatever it is, I choose to define myself by my passions
Picking the best really is personal preference. Arnold no doubt has a legacy that is going to be hard to match but claiming he had the best physique really has a lot to do with personal preference. So much can go into, size, proportion, vascularity, striations, etc. Just take a look at the picture below and look at all the different types of physiques.
A physique I always applauded is Stan McQuay's. He's not overly freaky but has nice symmetry and cuts.
Another person not to overlook is Ronny Rockel. Again, these are all my personal preferences. There's just too many to name.
If you're putting physique aside and just going for the most dominant, it's a toss up between a few of the already named (Ronnie, Arnold, etc.).

stan has an awesome physique. i'd love to look like that one day. odds are that he isn't natural anymore tho right? lol
Frank Zane. Age 66 (as of tomorrow). To me, pushing 70 and looking like that is more impressive than winning the Olympia.
C'mon ladies lets here what you have to say? I think Arnold is great..love his physique..but yeah.. the guys today are just massive and thick.. Dexter is definitely amazing too.

Its Arnold of his time frame but that being said as times change so do the physques an the bodybuilders of today are pretty unbelievable so I think you have to devide it up by eras to be fair.
