2ND PICTURE

I posted my second picture up...it's been a month since the last one. Unfortunately, I don't believe you can tell much of a difference between the two. However, I've gone down to a size 32 in pants, could probably easily wear 30's, but I like to have them a bit loose. I was wearing a 34 when I first started working out last July.

I realize that my main problem isn't so much my work out routine, or my cardio routine, but my diet. I consume way to much "junk food" throughout the week. It's difficult to eat properly, because I don't have any culinary skills. Also, my job has a cafeteria, and they only have junk food (not McDonald's or anything, but your generic hamburger, fries, pizza, hot dogs, etc). I've cut my soda consumption almost entirely, only consuming a diet soda when out with my GF because she's aware of my goals, but when I'm with the guys I have to drink a regular soda to save face.

I was never really a heavy drinker to begin with, so alcohol consumption was never a problem (I know beer is a big source of empty calories). Another problem I have is the amount of white rice I consume when visiting with my GF and her family. They eat rice with every meal, and if you clean your plate off, they are fast to add more rice to your plate again. I eat with them two times every week. However, I recently devised a strategy to eat most of everything that accompanies the rice, and save the rice for last (when everyone else is finishing up), or consume it very slowly over the course of the entire meal. I won't be so rude as to refuse the food they serve though, so cutting it out entirely is out of the question.

I'm still perplexed by low-intensity cardio and high intensity cardio. I'm aware that the lower intensity is better at burning off the fat you already have on your body, but high intensity cardio will help you boost your metabolism and burn off some fat you already have. I'm going to mix up my cardio days by doing some days at high intensity and some at a lower intensity. In either case, it's probably good to mix it up a little so my body doesn't adjust to any kind of routine.

Hopefully, with this new knowledge and a stronger resolve to stay away from eating junk food as much as possible my March picture will look better than my February picture. And, though I'm not seeing the results I'd like to be seeing, I understand that my waist has fallen at least 2 sizes (probably 4) since I started, and I no longer have any trace of a double chin what-so-ever (before, it looked like it was starting). With those affirmations in mind, I'm not going to quit, and I hope to someday reach my goal!

Thanks, Gizmonel!

Loyalt, you're right, she is Asian...dakine that keeps putting food on your plate if it's ever near empty.
