PUREXTC'S BLOG ENTRY
1ST BLOG
Don't really know what to say, I've been going to the gym for about 4 months, but only gotten serious about building anything about a month ago. I don't really have any set goals per-say, I just want my abs to show (I swear they're hard as a rock underneath about a half inch of flab!).
I feel I'm strongest at curling, and weakest on the bench press. I go to the gym 3-5 times every week for a little over an hour each time. I get 30 minutes of cardio in, and then 30-45 minutes of anaerobic lifting.
I just started taking supplements, namely NO-Xplode (I'm aware of the lawsuit), and ON Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein. While on the note about BSN and the lawsuit: from what I understand it's a couple of guys raising the question that BSN has falsely advertised some ingredients in their products. I'm not an expert, but the jar clearly states DO NOT SHAKE. I'm just curious if shaking it would have some kind of detrimental effect on the ingredients. From what I can tell, NO-Xplode does what it says it can, so I'm not complaining.
I found out about this website from the insert that came with ON Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein. I hope to meet some people who can give good advice, words of encouragement and an overall positive voice for my goals.
My main problem area is my diet. I don't drink soda, only water. However, calculating Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and how much I actually consume every day is astounding. My friends, parents, sister, and work schedule don't make diet any easier. Fast food is the easy and sometimes only meal available in a busy work day. Even when I don't have work, my friends and I go out to eat (it's hard to be eating healthy around friends), my mom always piles on extra food even though I'm not hungry (can't say no to mom), and my sister is not the best influence when it comes to food decisions.
I don't know how often I'm supposed to post a blog, but I'll try and make it weekly or bi-weekly, as I don't think I have much to report on a day-to-day basis.
