TAKING IT EASY IN THE BIG EASY
It feels different being able to relax and not prep for a show. For a while, I felt almost lost. You go from this intensive training routine to doing almost nothing. I was fine after Jr. Nats, but blew up like crazy after the USAs. It was kind of funny to see all the water I was holding. I must have taken a nap after every meal. I’m finally back to my normal self. It has been hard to eat clean and stay balanced. The other night I ate egg whites with my bbq ribs. What good did that do? I don’t know. Haha. Staying balanced is proving difficult to achieve, especially here in New Orleans. We have such a diverse mix of Cajun, French, Creole, and Vietnamese cusine.
As far as training goes, this will be the easiest season ever. I remember when I was prepping for my first show, it was a different body part every day! Now, I just have to concentrate on certain things. I must warn the ladies…ever since I started training abs every other day and including un-weighted oblique exercises, I’ve noticed my waist got wider. It’s one of those things you don’t know until you’re super lean.
I appreciate everyone’s comments about the USAs. You all are so sup portative. There were many quality competitors and I’m happy for the girls that placed ahead of me. I know what I have to do to place higher next year. As of right now, I am considering the nationals to get more experience on stage and to wear my sparkly suit again. Haha.
Good luck to all the competitors prepping for Team U! I know Debra and Huong are going. Anyone else?
