ONLETTINGGO'S BLOG ENTRY
A RUNDOWN OF MY CUT CYCLE FROM START TO PRESENT
Its been quite a while since i've written a blog on RA so i guess i feel like its time to throw an update out there. Who knows, some of you are probobly at or around the same stage in training as i am, so this may possibly help.
As of May 5th, i've been on my first EVER cutting cycle. I've been lifting for a few years now, but most of that time has been focused toward gaining muscle, i started with little to none, a staggering 150lbs, haha. Fast forward a few years and here were are. Days before the start of the cut cycle i recorded my body stats to track along the way, 186lbs and approx 12-14% bodyfat. First thing i did was get my food intake in check, mostly egg whites, protein shakes, and whole grains. I dont want to bore anyone with too much diet detail so to make things quick i'll just run through a typical day in my diet.
5:00am- Wake
5:30am- 1 egg, 2 egg whites, 1 piece whole grain toast
6:00am- Protein Shake, 2 scoops + 8oz water
8:30am- Fat Free yogurt + granola
10:30am- Half of turkey sandwich(whole grain bread, turkey, no condiments) + granola bar
1:00pm- Half of turkey sandwich + Apple + Protein shake(1 scoop + water)
3:30pm- Fast Twitch shake (pre-workout)
4:00pm- Workout
5:30pm- Protein shake (2 scoops + water)
6:30pm- Chicken breast and brown rice
9:00pm- Casein Shake (2 scoops + water)
9:30pm- Sleep
Ok, so that was a quick run-down, easy enough. I've prettymuch maintained this diet throughout the entire time i've been cutting, and i havent hit any plateau's.
-One week into the cycle i added GAT's Jet Fuel to aid in fat burning. I feel like it definitely gave me an edge.
-At the start of week 4 i weighed in at 174lbs with approx 10-11% b/f. Week 4 also marked the point where i began implementing cardio, only on lift days after my workout. I did HIT training for 20 minutes.
-Week 5, I added more cardio in the AM. I wake up early at 4:30, pop 3 jet fuel pills, then go for a mile jog outside on an empty stomach. By the end of week 5 (6/06/2008) i weighed in at 171lbs with approx 8-9% bodyfat. A personal best for me. Link to a pic of me at this stage- http://www.rippedacademy.com/onlettinggo/gallery
-Week 6, this is where things go a little haywire. I had to go away on a business trip Monday through wednesday (6/9 - 6/11)in Florida and when i returned home, i left the day after, for a few days of vacation in Ocean city. During this time i really had no time to work out, although i did go running whenever possible. I did have my protein with me for both trips, so i was able to get three shakes a day. Overall, during week 6 i didnt make any progress toward my goal, but i cant really say i took any steps backward either. In my mind thats a good thing. Which finally brings me to the present, week 7.
-Week 7, I'm finally home from business and vaca. Time to get my cycle back on track. Im back in the gym and back on my cardio, hoping that in a few more weeks i can hit my goal of reaching and maintaining 6-7% b/f.
If you read this whole thing; thank you, i hope it was somewhat entertaining and informative. If you have any questions, feel free to post it here or send it to me via PM.
