MONTY'S BLOG ENTRY
BADBADBAD
Well, I'm not to happy at the moment. Yesterday morning got out of bed and began thinking about my cardio for that morning. Highly motivated, fresh off a good radio show the day before, I walked in the gym door at 5:40 am. I jumped on the eliptical and got started. My pace was good and my mind right where it needed to be.
After my cardio I planned on knocking out some calves and abs (supersets). Everything was going great. I got through my first exercise and was bearing down on the second. Beginning my second set of cable cruches I thought to go up one plate. Suddenly, POW!! Something popped and it certainly wasn't my knuckles. Immediately my lower abdomin began burning. I layed there knowing this is a deal breaker.
I saw the doctor today, lower left abdominal tear. Nice. My competition is only two weeks away and I can barely walk at a decent pace. That's just on flat ground. Long story short, I guess I'll have to take some time off from training. Obviously, I won't be competing, but I'll still have my regular clients after work.
Hopefully, this can turn out to be a good thing. I just really have trouble realizing that the last year of training has been a bit wasteful. But, I'll take as much time as I need. Then, I'll hit it hard again. Don't worry, I'm not giving up. We can just call it, a 'lay-over'.
One other thing. I mentioned earlier about the radio show. Jennifer Rankin and I recorded a show together on Wednesday evening. It went extremely well. I'll let you all know when the web-cast will go out. And, thank you Jennifer, we really enjoyed having you on.
