VEGETERIANS AND FITNESS
No, I'm not a vegeterian by any means but I do struggle everyday with the protein choices I make. If I wansn't so involved in the fitness industry I would certainly be a vegeterian. However as we all know, we take in a lot of protein everyday and there is only so much, tofu, peanut butter, protein shakes and beans you can eat each day!
My reason for wanting to be a vegeterian, or really a vegan (which takes ever further) is my insane love for animals and the sandness I experience at the thought of what that animal may have gone through before getting to my plate. I'm plagued with guilt! You don't have to agree or understand how I feel. That's just how I feel, plain and simple.
My issue is really not so much about eating or not eating meat. I would be ok eating it if I knew that this animal was raised and killed in a humane manner. So to ease my guilty conscience I stopped eating beef and pork, I stopped drinking milk (I now drink almond milk, which I really like). I still eat turkey, chicken, and eggs but I order them from a farm that has "organic certified humane" meat. However, I still eat cheese and yogurt which contain milk. Its everywhere, so I ask myself what the heck I'm I supposed to eat?!!
