TIME FOR FITNESS

Twelve hour shifts, the commute to work, kids...there are all kinds of obligations that take so much time away that it seems impossible to find time for fitness. The object is to get rid of the idea that there isn't enough time. Make the best of the time that is available. Parking at the far end of the parking lot is a helpful trick that is rarely used. We've all heard to take the stairs and nix the elevator. Why work or study for hours while sitting down? Standing up while reading your text sometimes would be beneficial. It is not a workout, but it is the beginning of getting mentally able to truly appreciate that fitness is a commitment just like anything else. A trip to the supermarket can be all about fitness. Bypass the frozen burritos and beefaroni. Instead, get a healthy shopping list and recipies. They can be purchased in books or even borrowed at the library. That is sure to save on time. Then of course there are the wonderful recipies and shopping lists posted throughout the fourum at Ripped Academy. Spending an hour in the supermarket trying to figure out what to buy will can be a thing of the past. That should avail at least twenty minutes for a quick run. If death is preferable to running then walk. Just don't give up. Besides,a person that hasn't been training regularly shouldn't even think about throwing on a pair of shiny new nikes and running two miles for dear life anyway. Take your time. Break yourself in slowly. Before you know it fitness will be a regular part of your life. Couch potatoes will be lifting weights while watching the latest episode of reality tv. There is always time for fitness. Fitness is so much more than just blocking out an hour in a planner. It's those stretches you do when you wake up, it's waking up an hour early to lift weights,it's packing healthy meals to take with you. Just pretend that you want fitness as much as you say, and after a while you will start to believe it. Making time for fitness won't be a chore anymore. Making time for fitness will be the absolute thing to do.

I found that balance is the key to overcoming a crowded work schedule and family obligations. Taking time for myself and focusing on ME and planning my life around my fitness has made my life balanced and less stressful.

I make making time for fitness and healthy eating my #1 priority after all without our bodies and health how can we care for others???
