NEW JOB

Hello All,

Well, I have switched gears from being a scientist to now being a Teaching Assistant for math and science. The schedule is quite demanding and I am not used to being "on" all the time at work. Seems like I always need to be 10 steps ahead of the kids and they are constantly looking to me for "what's next?"

Needless to say, I have had some trouble fitting in all my meals during the day. Just can't seem to grab 10 mins to pop some food in. I am hoping the first few weeks are just like that and soon a routine will fall into place. I am very exhausted though...I am on my feet much more often and I feel more drained after the day is over.

Training is pushed later at night too now and sometimes, I can feel my body wanting to shut down. I will get it back on track, but definitely struggling a little with the new transition. I am excited for this new direction in careers and the Middle School was excited to bring on a former scientist to the classroom...have to represent!!!

It's rough when you hit a new schedule.. My summer training schedule was perfect! Now that the fall semester started I'm still trying to figure out how to work everything out, but hey, don't we always stress changing things up? Maybe you'll even find a better way of doing things...
Glad you're loving the new job, middle school kids can be rough!

My mom taught public school for 30 years and is currently teaching private school. Middle school kids can be rough like Scruth said, but I'm sure you will do great and inspire deeper thinking with the kids. I plan on teaching high school soon.

Hey,......I know how you feel about trying to fit in all my meals. If neccessary, try to make about 10-12 mini meals that equal out to the intake that you need and break them down to about every hour or two. I do that on certain days if I know the day is hected. It's sucks, but it gets the job done. I plan all meals day prior and based on the schedule that is set for me.
