KEEPING THE DRIVE

I was running on the treadmill at 7:45pm on Saturday night and looked down the line of the other treadmills...all empty. I used to have a training partner, but lately...due to schedules or goals...I find myself working out solo. I'll admit there are times I would love to have someone there pushing me or at least joining me in getting a sweat on when most people are out doing dinner on the town.

That's when I realized I my drive had "matured" to a level where I know what I need to do, I enjoy the training and I don't need to rely on someone else to get me to my goals. It was actually a nice feeling...before I enjoyed the company while on the second session on weekend nights, but now, I see it as another shot to get a good sweat on and hit whatever didn't get worked out that morning.

I'm in the same situation.. due to goals and times, I'm in the gym without a partner.
And it does give you a sort of freedom, but at the same time, I rarely have a spot so I'm forced to use dumbbells more often, etc.
It's good to know you don't NEED someone though!

I've spent many of Friday nights in the gym alone so I know how it feels. I remind myself that this is life of champions. I bought a treadmill and bike for my home and turn on the ipod and can sing out loud.

Its less distracting when your alone anyway! Sometimes even if my mp3 battery is dead I'll keep in my headphones otherwise I'll get talked to 15,307 times while I'm trying to work out, lol

That is so true!! I always keep my ear phones in regardless!! I like to stay focused and get in and out, even more so when training for a show!!

I've been working out solo since Jan 08... I saw many people dropped out of gym just for the want of a partner. I didn't want to create any dependency and just focus on getting a great body. Keeping in mind the strength of human spirit which had guided great athletes whose posters decorate our walls I keep on working and working and working.

If they can, I can and I will... with that i keep on working out :)

Cheers to you...
