KRISTINA'S BLOG ENTRY
END OF THE YEAR
2009 may be a time for me to change directions a little bit with the Fitness path. I am considering putting more energy to other organizations, rather than NPC. I was excited when Fitness America was supposed to come to Washington last year and pretty disappointed when the show was cancelled. I would like to give a different platform a shot and see what that entails. The $80 registration fee along with $50-$75 dollar entry fee for NPC shows makes the financial part tight. Though it is nice to have the one piece round eliminated. I might end up doing a mix of shows. I do hope Fitness America does a show in Washington state in 2009, that would be the show I would dedicate most of my effort to...
As for other goals, I am thinking I will need to pick up yet another job to make ends meet with my mortgage. I will try to keep teaching the 3 math groups I have, but maybe see if that can be part time and fill in the mornings with another job that pays a lot more. I consult for a biotech on the side, doing regulatory compliance, but not sure how long that contract will go for.

I understand where you are coming from. For the record everything is high except gas right now! (YEAH) I too want a second income just to support my competing. I'm thinking about getting a personal training certification. However I came up with an idea. I created a separate account called competition funds. Every pay period I put money into this account to support something I love to do. I figure I blow money on stuff I cannot even recall what it was why not take that money and invest it into something I love doing. I know the fees are high, however the NPC offer top notch competition. The only way I would walk away from the NPC is if I could not achieve the goals I have set meaning I just do have what it takes then I would look into other areas cause I love competing. I love being on stage with fellow competitors.
So at the end of the day it all boils down to what works best for you and your financial situation. I hope everything works out for the best!

Also, good luck with the other job. Times have been tough for me too, but luckily I have an awesome boyfriend who's been helping me out!
