MAGAZINES AND THEIR BULLSHIT
How many people out there read weightlifting magazines? raise of hands please. most of us do read them, but lets face it, it's all lies. Have you ever really read any good advice on weight training from magazines? I haven't. They want you to believe that you have to do these intermediate workouts when you first start, thats only so you wont have quick gains, and you'll keep buying their bullshit magazines. If they told the truth, these people wouldn't have jobs, cause then there wouldn't be no reason for anyone to buy any more magazines, everybody would be buff. The one thing i see missing mainly from their nutritional advice is post workout. None of these magazines push that you need fast carbs (sugar being the best) after a brutal workout, when your muscles are broke down and NEED FAST CARBS to rebuild, thats right, not just protein, but sugar too! I feel thats one of the major things that most people lifting weights don't know about. I see guys all the time in gyms that have been lifting for years, i don't mean 2 or 3 years, but years. And hear them talking about they got this workout from this magazine, this workout from this other magazine, and no offense, but i've been lifting for 10 months, and have already lapped these guys twice with my gains. I'm not trying to be cocky (maybe a little) and i do mind my own business at the gym(i never give ne one advice, but have been asked, then i do) because i don't want to act like i know it all, but i do know some, if i didn't i wouldn't be running laps around these veterans. My point is that they have all fallen victim for the propaganda bull shit of magazines! I just wanted to write on this because i don't believe enough people know the truth, and they need to know. If anyone has any comments or questions feel free to hit me up.

Magazine people have to sell magazines. Did it ever occur to you that you may be genetically gifted? It does make it a shame though that you can hardly tell what's good from bad, but here lately M&F has been putting out some good workouts. Just remember 1/10 truth 9/10 entertainment. When I was your age I would Squat 500 for reps but at 42 I usually stay below 4oo and use intensity techniques, because, I can't afford a serious injury if I have to work. Please look at my evolution of a muscle head blog it's the funny truth!

actually, being a faithful reader of M&F, they always preach the fast digesting post workout carbs. they even have an article about how to mix the different types of sugary carbs (glocose, fructose, and sucrose) in your post workout shake for best results.

Magazines r cool to flip threw, but they r out for one thing....money. I really think most of them could care less whats in there as long as they r get'n paid from companies like muscletech, etc.....Good general ideas, but I hate it when they have "the pro's" 2 a day workouts, etc...Most people know that u CANNOT train like that without the "supplements" or should I say drugs that they are take'n. I think a lot of young lifters can be confused by the all supplement, and training hype some of the mag's push
