LIVING IN JAPAN ALONE
Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give you all an update on life in Japan land!
Now that we are settled, the hubby's job had taken way...and taken HIM away from me. He has been gone all month, I only spent four days with him and he's gone most of this month as well. He was gone a lot back in the states, but not THIS much sheesh!
So I have been trying to adjust and get used to basically living alone and although I did back in WA its MUCH different here.
I can't just hop in my car and drive a couple hours to see my family. I am kind of stuck here....I either have to get on a boat or plane to go anywhere!!! I am on a tiny island!!!
We adopted two kitties here in Japan so I could have some company at least!!! I do have a couple friends BUT most of the wives that I have met all have children. And as much as I love kids, it does make it hard to just get up and go do something. As easy as it is for me to pick up and head out, none of them can so most of time I end up exploring on my own! Currently I am only training part time at the gym here on base so i have most of my day to explore the island. I usually spend my spare time shopping for things for the house, I love decorating! lol.
I also LOVE going down to the water and collecting shells. Last week I accidently brought home a hermit crab....poor guy! lol. They have amazing shells here!
I am now an open water certified diver! I took the class in the beginning of August, and although I was scared shitless I made it through! woo hoo!
Haha. My husband and I have gone on a couple dives, just the two of us and it was awesome! We saw jelly fish, lion fish, sea snakes, huge fish, clown fish, rainbow fish....so much sea life! I thank God that he is such an experienced diver because if it weren't for him I would probably end up out in the middle of the ocean, I have a really hard time keeping track of where I am under there because it all looks the same!
I am having a blast here, other than the occasional lonesomeness, I just have to remember to stay BUSY!
I love the food YUMMMMMM! hahaha. And the nice warm weather! Although today a storm blew through and it was a DOWN pour, like the ocean water was just being dumped on our heads, you walk out in it for literally 5 seconds and you look like you took a shower! It's crazy!
I am off to bed, as most of you are just waking up to start your day!!! I am 16 hour ahead of west coast time!
If you have ANY questions about living in Japan or military life ask away!!!!
