INDIGO82'S BLOG ENTRY
IT HAS BEEN A WHILE
Hi Everyone,
I hope things are going well for each of you. My laptop has been in the shop for three weeks and just got it back tonight.
Things have been rough. Today was my last day of work at the college until January :). Unfortunately, this has been a week of long days and no food. Today was the worse when I finally realized at 5:00pm that I didn't eat or drink at all that day. Work has been getting to me. I actually put in a job application for an elementary school in the area this week. I know, if I get it, it will mean a significant pay cut and double (maybe triple) my current travel time. But I feel that it would be a better change for me and put me in a better enviroment where I won't feel like I'm constantly the one that gets all the crap dumped on me and become the complaint department and have to take whatever anyone tells me and, God forbid, I ever open my mouth because it may get repeated to a vice president. Unfortunately, that has happened!!! These three weeks back at work for me was me taking stuff and just smiling and it's very sad that things are like that.
Ok, I need to start ranting. The good thing, notice no 's', I won my first outdoor racquetball tournament match! I played against a very athletic woman. She ran the NY marathon this year. Our match was a marathon! It lasted over an hour and thirty minutes. It ended 7-15, 15-10, 11-9. The bad part of it lasting so long was that my next match was 35 minutes later! I was too tired and lost that one.
This is a restructuring winter break for me. The building of Rome has all but stopped. I have not been to the gym this month. I'm at a 24 hour gym so I know I have no excuse. I now need to sit down and evaluate where my time is going, what are things I can do to give me more time, what are things that I can do start the fire that was in me a few months ago. Step 1, I called my trainer after work and I'll see him on Monday and a few more times over the next two weeks. He even threw in a free hour session for me and I appreciate that. I'm getting back in the gym this week but I have to put myself on a schedule that I can follow when work starts back. This might mean getting back up at 4:00am to workout as I have done earlier this year.
However, I'm like the first individual mentioned in Joe Lyons article. I'm great working out, but struggle with the diet. That's my fault 110%. I have to make better choices in the grocery store. Stop skipping protien just because cups are dirty and I don't want to spend the minute to wash and dry the cup. That's where the results are going to come. I went to the doctor last friday and the scale read 246. I have NEVER been that high and I hate it.
I need to stop the good intentions and start making the good actions. I was said in a meeting I was in this month that we have to be our own best friend. Right now, I know I'm treating myself as if it's an enemy, unimportant, and can be neglected. This has to stop. So, let me get the plans for Rome back out, review the progress and the challenges, repair my foundation, make the needed changes, and start on the first wall.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

If you take your time and bring things in, one at a time, you are more likely to stick with your program. Start with a single day that you work out each week. When you're really comfortable with that, add another. Then start thinking about your diet, change a single meal each day. Your Rome is not just your body, but also your time. I trust that you can make solid decisions on what your body needs. I also know that you can do this, you're already being proactive with your job.
Best of luck to you. Don't forget, we're always here, so if you want to bounce ideas off of us, just post a blog entry or drop us a line. :)
