HEATHERMARIE'S BLOG ENTRY
HELLO RIPPED ACADEMY
My trainer sent me a link to this website. I've been perusing it for sometime, so I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.
My name is Heather. I'm 33 years old and started working out in the summer of 2006. I started because I had gained over 30 lbs during my last relationship. When I left, I had to do something to make myself feel better...plus, I just did not feel healthy. At the beginning of 2007, I hooked up with a friend and started getting really serious about strength training. I had obtained a job as a tow truck driver and wanted to make sure I had the strength to perform the duties. Sometime in June of 2007, I was reading an article in a fitness magazine, I can't remember which one, but it stated that the moment you make a decision to compete, your motivation increases. Well, I thought about it for a moment and decided that competitions just may be for me. I just wasn't sure about how I could pull it off.
Recently, someone I knew but only on a name basis, revealed that they were a certified trainer and competition judge. We started talking and recently, he started training me. For the past two weeks, I have been meeting him at the gym at 5:30 in the morning. Armed with diet, training plan and soon, a supplement schedule, I am hoping to enter my first competition in May of 2008.
The past two weeks have been really exciting for me. I have actually started to feel as if I really can make this happen. When I met Pete, my trainer, for the first time that early in the morning, it became real to me.
I have pictures I can put on here sometime soon so that my progress can be tracked. I have a profile on Bodyspace.com - screen name is Heather129.
The past two weeks I have persevered through training despite the fact that I caught a cold near the end of the first week and I suffered a small injury yesterday during training. I smashed the knuckle on my middle finger re-racking 30 lb dumbbells after performing shrugs. The dumbbell slipped over the rack and *SMASH* - ouchie! I did not stop working out though, I finished the workout that day with an ice pack on my finger!
So, that's a little about me. I will check in occasionally. My computer at home finally died after fighting for its life for awhile. I can't get online as often as I used too. If anyone has any questions or just wants to stop by to get to know me, feel free to message me. Thanks!
