FITSARAHBEAR'S BLOG ENTRY
POST COMPETITION
So it's been two weeks since I competed in the Iron City Classic in Pittsburgh, PA. This was my third figure show and I wanted to bring a different look to this show than before. I placed 4th in figure open class, and 5th in figure novice class. Both of these placings were last out of all the competitors on stage... lol. I probably could have used two to three more weeks of dieting to show off my physique, but things happen that are out of my control and overall I couldn't be happier with myself. What is important is that I have progressed with each show, not where I have placed.
I've decided to take some time off from competing after some consideration on my part and talking with my trainer. I know I want to make some changes to my body. The area I want to work on the most is building up my back and shoulders. As much as I love competing I am happy to have a long break from dieting.
Right now I'm trying to transition into "normal" life, which isn't as easy as it may seem. I always find the time after the show to be the most difficult to deal with mentally. There seems like there is so much build up to a show and then when it is all over I feel a little lost. To get me through this phase I've set some short term goals. The first one is running a 5k tomorrow. I've always been more of a sprinter, so running 3.1 miles might be a challenge!
Here's to building a better body for next year! Happy training!

The first battle is getting the confidence to compete on stage and you did just that. Continue to work hard and enjoy your break from the stage!

Setting short term goals are great. You are a winner no matter what place you took. There are thousands of women in the world that wish they could have just been on stage with you. Keep your head up and be proud of yourself.
