FAITHNEM'S BLOG ENTRY
RECAP OF 2007 SEASON
Well this season was quite interesting. I changed coaches, starting basically from scratch to get my fitness level back where it use to be and go beyond that to get fitter and stronger than I have ever been. It was a long road I must say! My first competitions were nothing to write home about that's for sure. Then I decided to start working along with another great coach who has insight into new techniques and ways of training to get the body moving again. I had to increase my quick twitch muscles again so I could run fast.
He introduced me to the ON and ABB products and once I started taking multi vitamins, and protein and recovery drinks, I started to see results come quick. I could finally work hard and allow my body to recover and not break down so I could come back the next day and do it again. Thus, my performance started to show.
I ended this season off with an 11.06 in the 100 meters. I am ranked in the top 15 in the world and I was moving on to really make my mark again in Track and Field. Unfortunately while in a competition overseas, I pulled my hamstring, due to very cold weather. I have been in therapy and have recovered well. The season is over now though, so i am resting up and slowly starting my base work, running hills and cross country trails for endurance, swimming to really boost my oxygen capacity and breathing technique. I am having fun and ready to get my training going and get ready for this big year. 2008 Olympics!!!
