INDOOR SEASON A COMPLETE SUCCESS THANK GOD
Well I am off to an outstanding start this year. Not only am I the USA indoor Champion, but I just returned from Valencia, Spain for World Indoor Championships and I am now the 60m World Champion as well and the world leader winning with a time of 7.06. I am so proud of myself. My family was going crazy and my coach was so pleased. I am glad I was able to make so many people proud and give those hope who have watched me go through so many obstacles but never giving up. To finally come back around and be successful and at peace with things. It is a great feeling. I am now taking a week off to relax and let my body rest from the indoor season. I put so much into that one day at World Championships, it took 2 days to come down off my rush. I had three rounds, including the final all on Friday, march 7. I ran at noon, 5:30p and 8:25p. So I had to get up early to be at the track for the first race and stayed at the track the rest of the day. I wanted to go back to the hotel and rest and eat, but the bus schedule to and from the track and the hotel was inconsistent, so we just brought blankets and had to camp out at the track. They brought us food, but my nerves were so bad, that I couldn't eat. That's where the Steel protein bars from ABB came in and I ate some of that, to keep some energy in me.
Now on to outdoor season. I have to go back to training around the track, meaning longer distances because the 100 meters is totally different than the 60 meters and I want to be very strong and successful outdoors as well. My first few meets will be relay meets, so I can work on things and just continue to get fit.
So for now I am on my way back to California to visit my family and relax for a couple days before returning back to Florida to start training for outdoor season.
