DEBRA'S BLOG ENTRY
I THINK I SPOKE TOO SOON
Earlier, I wrote that my energy level was good. Well, I don't know what happened, but somewhere around 4PM, I felt like I was shot with a tranquilizer dart! I guess all of the training and lack of carbs have finally caught up with me. I struggled through my training session... and it was arm day! I rode the stationary bike for cardio and it was the longest 30 minutes of my life. I thought it would never end! Several times I wanted to just quit and go home but I kept saying to myself, "this is what champions are made of."
Needless to say, I am officially drained! But I will be up at 5:30 AM to start it all over again. I am already dreading the sound of my alarm clock (which by the way is "Eye of the Tiger!!!").

Debra, my hat's off to you for working through it even though you felt like quitting! That's certainly the mark of a champion. Unfortunately, I didn't fare so well with my workout this morning. My wife and son came home from a trip this morning... at 3:30am! I was supposed to pick them up after their ride from the airport (they were coming back from Maryland with some other friends). I dozed for most of the night, but when they showed up in the driveway at 3:30am I got up to greet them. Anyway, come 7am this morning I tried to do my cardio, but just couldn't! I tried, but after 5 minutes I gave up... too tired! I delayed it until lunch time. I wonder if having a contest date before me would have made a difference. Anyway, good for you! Keep up the great work.

Yea, that's hard to do, but kudos to you for working through it.

Sounds like you are right on track. Every time I get to this point I ask myself why I keep doing this to myself, lol and then on competition day I get this big energy boost, feel great, look my best in days and then can't wait to plan my next show and to hit the gym to do it agian.
