A BIG SUPRISE
So Ive been training for about 9 of the 15 weeks to get prepared for Nationals. I send in my form, money, etc and it finally gets there. Get a email from the Vice President of the NPC and he tells me that I have not qualified due to my Natural Ohio show, it being a National Qualifier, is not a national qualifier for all the national level shows. It qualifies me for Team Universe, North Americans, and Junior Nationals but not the USA's or Nationals. 9 times outta 10 its either a national qualifier or not!!! Believe me, I was in disbelief and never heard of such a thing but whatever. So at the time of 11:30pm when I get this email, I compose myself and come across one solution-qualify before November 14th or do not go aka waste nine 9 weeks of dieting, cardio and buying food to cook........NOPE!!!!! So I did the only thing really possible, look at the schedule and see what I can do. Seeing that I am in the green pastures of Indiana where there aint too many shows to begin with, a miracle (actually two) pop up on the screen. I get two chances to qualify in such a remote area. So Oct 24th i will be participating with Brad Davis in the 2009 Bluegrass Championships and if that is not to be ill try one more time at the Kentucky Muscle in Louisville, KY. In this situation, I thank the decent conditioning I keep during the off-season to be able to push the clock forward just a lil.......bout a month ahead. If its meant to be then its meant to be and Ill be in Fla. If not, 2010 will be waiting.
-FYI- Always look at the fine print, even when it comes to bodybuilding, LOL!!!

"For all national qualifying figure events – the top five (5) are eligible for the JUNIOR USA, TEEN COLLEGIATE MASTERS NATIONALS and TEAM UNIVERSE FIGURE CHAMPIKONSHIPS and the top three (3) are eligible for the JUNIOR NATIONAL, USA and NATIONAL FIGURE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Eligibility is good for two (2) years. Promoters can elect number of classes for their figure contests. ONLY THOSE FIGURE CONTESTS HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH A NATIONAL QUALIFYING BODYBUILDING CONTEST WILL BE NATIONAL QUALIFIERS."
So even though it is a National Qualifying show, it does not necessarily mean that one would qualify for ALL national shows - it depends on your placing - whether it be top 3 or top 5. Hope that helped a little. And GO GET EM!
