EVOLUTION OF A MUSCLE HEAD

The seed is always different. For me it was a physical inferiority complex, starting out small and weak, becoming chubby through puberty and then the ever present desire for the fairer sex. But what is more interesting to ponder is what has kept me lifting for over 25 years? After a year or two of lifting with that wonderful pubescent hormone profile,my physical superiors became my physical equals, and eventually physically inferior. After piles of BB mags and crap supps, (and the decision of to juice or not)and overcoming that obstacle, the next was GIRLS! How many times have you picked up a muscle mag and heard:"You don't want to look like that guy do ya?" "Or that's gross who would want to look like that?" Yet when you do the girls turn their heads for a second look, and in my days as a bouncer the endless request to "make a muscle" or to touch my big arms. So you get the girls. Then what? I'm 42, have a great family, a pretty good life and nothing to prove. Now you just love the challenge, it's fun! You face yourself and the weights represent all the challenges in your life, manipulating the factors to acheive the desired outcome. Oh, and health is a wonderful benefit. (But few lift for health alone, don't kid yourself)For all you young people starting out, you will be secretly envied causing negative response, but make no mistake, you will be more confident than most, and when you go up against the average person for a job, eveything you gain from training in the gym will push you past them in life! Remember many talk about getting big and lifting but in 25 years who will still be lifting? I hope it's you!
