BEEFCAKE GIRL'S BLOG ENTRY
NEW FIGURE CRITERIA
Hello all!
Just wondering what everyone thinks about the comments that the judges have made about rewarding shape and feminine beauty over muscularity...
I know my trainer is going to teach his amateurs how to pose a little differently so they can roll with the changes a bit better and I know quite a few girls who got knocked at Jr USA's and are making changes to bring themselves in a bit more streamlined next time.
Concensus from what I hear in our gym (which has a lot of competitors and pros!) is that everyone's waiting to see what will happen at Jr Nats...that will be very telling. But we've all heard the statements about femininity and natural beauty before and this reminder isn't something entirely new.
Personally, I am continuing on, same as ever! I have never been overly muscled and my shape has always been my strong point. I used to be dwarfed onstage by the other girls but my shape allowed me to remain competitive. Given my genetics and the fact that I am totally natural, I doubt I have to worry about toeing the line on musculatiry or hardness! So I am lifting hard and heavy as ever and I'm excited to see how these mandates affect the results this year. I hope to bring a much improved package...at my first pro show I felt lucky to do well since it was essentially the same package I brought to the stage when I won at Nationals! This year, I can't wait to debut my new and improved physique :)
What do you guys think about the changes in figure??

I have to bust my butt and I still come in looking "soft"lol.
I really hope we see a change. Figure was created to stand apart from bodybuilding!
