AN OBSERVATION
so a few days ago i went to a different branch of the gym's that i go to that have much more free weights. I looked around and saw a bunch of guys and i was like dang those guys are huge. but then i noticed the weights they were using were puny. Has anyone else seen something similar to this. Really huge looking guys that do not lift up to how they look. I know i look like the skinniest guy and i out lift some of my friends that weigh 30-40 pounds more than i do. i was just wondering if anyone has noticed something similar

There could be plenty of reasons why the bigger guys are lifting smaller weights. While I can easily curl some 45's, sometimes I want to go for a pump and burn, so I'll switch over to a pair of 25's and focus and squeeze even harder at the top of the movement with a lighter weight. Just because someone is big, doesn't mean they always have to lift big.

I agree with Mark. Sometimes I want the ultimate pump in a workout and other times I want to lift heavy.

Lifting heavy does not mean that you are big. It just means that you are strong. Many peole are strong and do not look huge, and many people are huge but not strong. I like a mix of both
