ALCOHOL FUELED DEMO
I went in to the Vitamin Shoppe in Westwood for my demo the other day and it turned out that they were unaware that I was coming. I spoke with the manager of that branch for about 15-20 minutes and she intimated that anytime Monday through Thursday would be best for them, as they were closing at 6pm. I stayed around for a while and chatted with a few customers and passed out a few samples before leaving.
On my way home however, I passed by a crowded sports bar that I could see was showing the 49er game (I rarely get to see niner games living in LA). I stopped and headed on in to catch the second half. After speaking with a few inebriated bar patrons about whatever came up during their drunken diatribes, I brought up the fact that I am a rep for Optimum Nutrition/ABB. Immediately a few people (5 or so) who had heard of the company began asking questions about the products. Having their attention (and samples of products in my car) I ran out and grabbed as many samples as I could carry and orchestrated an impromptu demo at the bar! Needles to say, they were very appreciative. Most of them wanted "to get back into shape" so I sampled the Turbo Tea and Gold Standard 100% Whey, concurrently informing them of proper nutrition and exercise (I wasn't about to tell them to put that sixth beer down, however).
I stayed for a while after the game ended (Niners won) and found that many were regulars there for NFL Sundays. I may head back!
