We Are Ready Week 12

by: Sean Royer - April 27th, 2009
1290The time has gone by in a flash. I look back and found myself at the height of a mass phase at 222. I put myself into a keto diet and here I am at a tight 190 (AM weight, first thing). A very flat 190 I may add as most of you know with the very low carb diets.

How to handle the last week before the contest:

Training - I will do weights just to pump, working the upper body, and lay off on lower body. These sets are to get the blood flowing and keep a good volume moving through this short workout.

Conditioning - This ended on Sunday, and the sessions of endless cardio are now over. I will do a little light walking, 15 min or so at night. Otherwise this part of the training is done for now.

Diet - Can we say I'm looking forward to this week. Fat will come back in on Tuesday, and let me tell you I'm ready. All protein powder was cut on Saturday and now it is food. Nice change to eat turkey, chicken and fish. Steak comes on Wed, so another thing to look forward to. Carbs, come into the picture on Thursday. It will be something after depletion to have carbs again. :)

Bridging - The between meal supplements, I really have to stay on top of this one. These include L-Glutamine, BCAA's and HMB. I know how important this becomes in the final days before a contest.

Posing - Most of this week will be about posing and fine tuning.

Contest Day - All of the ground work is done, food is ready, rice cakes and peanut butter, extra this or that. Check in is at 9:30 AM and then pre-judging to follow.

I thank all RA'ers who have followed along for the past 12 weeks. Your comments, pm's and encouragement are all appreciated.

This week focus on what you do, and where you are going! Until next week.... ;)
