So, I have a big update!
I have been doing a lot of thinking and praying, trying to decide on some things that I have not been so sure about, and I think I finally got my answer!
As you know, I have been dieting since January, and my goal this year was to qualify for a national level show. Because of my complications at my last show, I barely made it, but I did!!
I was going to do Jr.USA's but after thinking a bit I realized I was not ready yet for a national show. I have some muscle to add to my shoulders and back, and want to come in to a national show ready to place high!
I was going to do one more show this season" the Southern" just to do another one, but then I realize this week at 4 weeks out" why am I putting my body through this and losing time I could be building for next season?"
I was only doing another show just to do it, and because I was already dieted down. Mike Davies is coaching me now, and I think we both have agreed that taking some time to start to add muscle would be smart.
I am going to keep dieting through the summer because I have shoots and demo's, but no more competing this season. I need to gear up for the national stage and shoot for my pro card!
I am happy with my decision, and I am so excited to see how Mike will change my body!
Good luck to all of you getting ready for Jr.USA's, you all are going to do great!!!
God bless!
Kayla

Wow Kayla. That must have been a hard decision, but with a wedding coming up, I think it's the right one.
Congrats and enjoy the summer. I'm happy for you!

Hey Kayla, I also think you are making a good choice. Better to come in and kick but, then to come in amd not make a lasting impression on the judges. I also think that going with Mike is a GREAT choice!! I know from personal experience how he can totally and completely change you physcially.

Kayla is was a tough decision to make, but you made the right one. I hope for your continued success.

I think that is a wise decision. I started competing in '06 and it was my plan to do three shows. I qualified for Jr's at my first show and Nationals at my 2nd show but I was dead set on doing three! But Mike told me that it wouldn't do me any good because I was already qualified so take the time off and prepare for the next level. Turned out, he was right!
No need to put the mental and physical stress (not to mention financial stress) on yourself!
