Surgery on Monday

by: Sheila - October 6th, 2008
791It has been a crazy week. I flew back from a doing a demo at a body building show in Anchorage on Sunday. I have been working overtime the past few weeks trying to get as much done before my surgery so I would not have to leave too much for my coworkers to complete while I’m on leave. I still taught my two night classes at the gym, Mon and Wed. I had my final practice for the fashion show this past Friday. The show was Saturday which was a huge success. I received great feedback on both the scenes that I had choreographed. My models were awesome and it would not have been as much of a success or fun without each one of them.

Today, I spent all day cleaning house, getting caught up on all my paper work, bills, birthday cards, cooking, packing for the hospital and now its past midnight and I’m still awake.

I have mixed feelings, scared of not knowing the length of my recovery and also happy because it’s the beginning of relief from the pain that I have had since June. I have been very frustrated not being able to lift. I thought I could do my normal leg routine, but I had to change it up because I cannot rack a bar or even put the bar on my back to do squats without pain. It'll be great to know that I will be on the count down for the day I can lift heavy again. Keep me in your prayers and as soon as I am able, I will give an update.

Best of luck! Another good thing is that since you are physically fit, it makes recovery significantly faster. You'll be back at it in no time.
