IFBB North American Figure

by: CindyMartinez - September 1st, 2008
60I just returned from competing in the IFBB North American Figure. I had an incredible time and met so many cool people!!! The North American competition includes Canadian and Mexican athletes, so I made many new Intl friends. This is absolutely the best National Show ever. Gary Udit is an excellent promoter. As a competitor, you are able to relax and enjoy the show! The venue had a good turn out and I was able to spend time at the ON/ABB booth.

How did I do?
I placed 11th in my class. I had poor call outs in the two piece and very good call outs in the 1 piece (2nd call out - 1st call out was 3 girls). It just happened that the "time of the month" and the fact that I was not very lean, both had a negative impact on my body. Could not dry out. During the first round (2 piece), I began to sweat so much that I tightened up for the 2nd round. The change in my physique was unbelievable.

The show served its purpose. I confirmed that what I have been doing to improve my back, shoulders and glutes is working. A few more weeks of dieting and I will be where I need to be!!
