Contest Prep diary 2 weeks out
by: DannyStevens - October 21st, 2007So, my carb intake has now dropped, SEVERELY. My carbs for the day only really are coming from oatmeal in the morning and a baked potato in the evening. I've cut my carbs for a few reasons-
1) Most of the time, your body has plenty of carbs stored for energy. If you're eating 220 G carbs daily and only using 180 G, where's the other 40 going?!?!
2) By having those excess carbs stored, you're also holding in the excess water as well.
The trick now is to deplete my body of the carbs, shred out what I have in me and get the water gone. To give you an idea of how much it has helped, in one day, I LOST almost 2 LBS of water :) I'm down to 186.6 compared to my usual 188. My waistline is down to 31 inches with the rest of my body measurements either staying consistant or improving.
So, here's my meal plan from today, Sunday 10/21. You can notice that there is now a huge drop in my overall caloric intake. Thats ok, at two weeks out, I won't lose any muscle, only water hopefully.
