CAN YOU MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT OVER THE HOLIDAYS
by: CindyMartinez - December 5th, 2010We should all have a plan to keep trim over the holidays!! Sweets and Alcohol will wreak havoc on your physique. Couple this with missed days in the Gym and you WILL add some extra pounds. Next thing you know, New Years is here and you wish you were just a little leaner.
As you can see, I am speaking from experience. I am not a drinker, but once you follow a clean diet year round, indulging in "dirty" food will hurt your physique more than someone who eats bad year round!! Its not fair, but its Reality. Months to take it off, days to pack it ON.
So what’s the Plan?? We all need one. Some items require More WILL Power than others.
A. Keep in Focus
1. I would start by posting one of your favorite physique shots in a place where you will see it every day. Look at this everyday. 2. In addition, Try on your best fitting pants and jeans and keep them handy - you will try these on every morning to make sure they don’t start getting snug. 3. On your calendar, show Parties and Plan ahead. (So plan your cheats) - I know this is hard to do for most, so read below to see what else you can do to not get PLUMP.
B. Do EXTRA and Work Harder (If you are Eating a little Extra?? Do EXTRA.)
1. Train Heavier in the Gym (take advantage of the extra calories) 2. Add an extra Cardio session - If possible in the AM or after Training 3. Do not Skip the Gym! ** 4. Increase your water Intake! 5. Take Alpha Lipoic Acid after a big meal! 6. Take 4G of CLA a Day 7. Dont Forget The Fish Oil ( EFAs will help) 8. Limit yourself to one plate of food with lots of water. 9. Have a small portion of dessert (no bigger than 4"x4" square). Right after if you can't control yourself - Brush your teeth or put a piece of Gum in your mouth. 10. Enjoy yourself and be Proud that you have SELF CONTROL.(New Years is Just around the Corner)
**If the Gym is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day - Walk outside and Train at home (There are a lot of creative exercises that can be done at home and at the Park)
